Centerline is a strategic, content marketing agency crafting compelling digital experiences.

Centerline Digital currently seeks a Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics Director to join our team in Raleigh, NC. We’re interested in finding someone with the traits of both architect and analyst who will use data to help smart clients see possibilities that they weren’t able to see before.

As the Business Intelligence and Analytics Director at Centerline (BI/AA), you will focus on two primary efforts.

1. Help integrate analytics into our existing client strategies. You will help build and lead a BI/Analytics Center of Excellence inside of Centerline Digital that strengthen client marketing strategies. You will work with UX, Content and Marketing strategists to build stronger, measurement-based work.

2. Help create and integrate “cultures of measurement and action” on a consultative basis into our client’s marketing environments. You will work alongside Centerline’s organizational consultants who are focused on modernizing client marketing organizations.

The crux of this role is to develop the areas of gathering business data/analytics, synthesizing raw data into insights, reporting, visualization, information delivery, and integration into client organizations. In addition, you will help build demand for BI/AA, strengthening Centerline’s holistic marketing solutions and helping create an environment for Centerline’s continued success.

Your primary responsibilities in this role will include the following:

External (Client) Responsibilities

  • Clearly and concisely articulate insights and recommendations to the relevant client-side decision makers through written and oral reports and presentations
  • Engage customers/prospects in the possibilities of BI/AA to modernize their marketing organizations
  • Interact directly with the senior leadership and strategy teams across Centerline to drive initiatives
  • Reduce broad concepts and complex business strategies into easily-understood language allowing client to see value

Internal (Centerline) Responsibilities

  • Creation of the integrated BI/AA Center of Excellence & Roadmap within Centerline
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the development and implementation of Centerline’s business intelligence and analytics strategy including research design, data processing technology, business intelligence tools, and reporting processes
  • Develop service positioning and messaging that differentiates and elevates Centerline’s offering
  • Communicate the value proposition of BI/AA to Centerline’s internal Accounts and Creative teams and help develop the marketing and sales tools that support the demand and delivery process
  • Contribute business and domain expertise for pricing, positioning and marketing collateral strategies
  • Create a steady stream of thought leadership that elevates Centerline’s position in providing modern, strategic marketing solutions through analytics and business intelligence
  • Design visualization approach and standards
  • Understand and promote recommended best of breed approach to modern data solutions via the latest technologies available in the BI/AA industries to business unit leaders and executives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical service delivery
  • Experience with one or more BI or visualization products or enterprise Business Analytics software
  • Experience managing/interacting with customers at technical, management and executive level
  • Proven technical expertise in data modeling, and data analytics
  • Sales expertise including solutioning, scoping, and proposal development
  • Account management expertise including strong communication skills, written skills, and executive-level client-facing abilities
  • Experience leading BI vendor partnerships

Additional

  • Business Intelligence expertise with hands on experience with one or more BI solutions
  • Superior analytical problem solving skills
  • Ability to understand the role of marketing software in Fortune 500 (CRM, CMS, DAM, PIM, etc.)
  • Experience with Adobe’s growing array of marketing software, Salesforce, SAP, Unica, SAS
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically and articulate/translate ideas, service features and customer values into user and buyer personas

  • Be the most knowledgeable person in the room, delivering client pitches and presentations — building consensus and managing challenges.
  • Facilitate discussion. Provide a critical eye to the team’s work. Not just in review of design, but always with the question: Will this accomplish the stated goal?
  • Be aware of the latest concepts, practices and procedures for successful marketing communications in any medium — including video, animation, interactive, print and social networks.
  • Execute creative, working within brand guidelines and defined campaign styles.
  • Be adaptive to change, but focused on the goals of clients, the agency and individuals.
  • Work with the Executive team to establish new account relationships.

Required background and skills:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in an agency, brand management, or corporate communications setting; B2B experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in at least ONE of the following disciplines: Writing, UI Design/Development, Motion Graphic Design/Animation, Directing, Editing.
  • Strong writing skills in a variety of formats (proposals, pitches, concepts, treatments, etc.)
  • Cross disciplinary thinking and adept problem-solving skills
  • Leadership experience and proactive communications acumen.
  • Self-motivated, requiring minimal hands-on management.
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail.

We are looking for a Content Strategist with experience conducting extensive, enterprise-level content audits, and a working knowledge of applying findings to both website content (and beyond) as well as back-end technological recommendations.

In the role of Content Strategist, you’ll be working with clients to inherently understand their offering, their brand, and their target audience. You’ll be using that knowledge to triangulate the ideal communications strategy using their existing content (where appropriate) and defining new content (as needed).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive content inventories and audits, gap analyses, competitive audits, and secondary research to provide recommendations on content standards, needed improvements, and content gaps.
  • Define content standards to support key business objectives and develop strategies for achieving those standards. Define processes and policies to enable smooth and rapid adoption of new policies and standards for our clients.
  • Develop and implement content processes and guidelines (including scalable content models, messaging strategies, metadata schema, and taxonomies).
  • Use data from stakeholders, customers and market research to evaluate content effectiveness. Partner with UX strategists to understand who our audience is, what content they require, and how they consume content across multiple platforms.
  • Develop frameworks to assess the quality and performance of on-page content while understanding the back-end alignment of metadata, data management and localization practices.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) programs (such as Kapost, Compendium, etc.)
  • Drive the discovery of industry trends and emerging best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within a relevant field, plus a Bachelors Degree.
  • The ability to understand complex business information – and to catalyze “big ideas” into compelling solutions.
  • A track record of success as a partner to other team members to bring a fresh perspective to a particular client project.
  • Effective written and verbal communication – from presenting to client executives, to conveying insights to our internal team.
